Fredrick March, Florence Eldridge. Lavish but empty production concerning the attempts of the explorer to get permission from the Spanish court to sail to New World. Very slow, talky, and dull. (Dir. David MacDonald., 104min.)

 

--It's not a well-made movie. It's rather like a documentary. There was no dramatic scenes, therefore no impression. But I learned a lot about that historic discovery of the New World, though I do not know how far it is true.

It's about discovery, but part of it shows the encounter between two civilizations.
